A lookback at South Australia Trip 2013 - Part 2

Disclaimer: All that is written is based on my own experience and I'm in no way influenced or sponsored by anyone.

Day 05 - Kangaroo Island to Victor Harbor (10 Dec 2013)

First stop - Sealink @ Penneshaw
Address: Penneshaw, SA5222

You can see the cars loading into the ferry! The ferry we booked from Kangaroo Island (Penneshaw) to Cape Jervis left at 10.30am, so we had to be there at 10am. We were early so we went to a nearby cafe where my dad and sis got their daily dose of caffeine.

Second stop - Lunch @ The Original Victor Fish Shop
Address: 20 Ocean Street, Victor Harbor SA 5211, Australia

We lunched at The Original Victor Fish Shop and google told us that is was good. We had to lunch at Victor Harbor because we had paid for a ride in a horse drawn tram that will take us to and fro granite island. The tram to granite island will be at hourly intervals 30 minutes after the hour, while the tram back will be at the hour, hourly. Not sure what time they start and end though. The picture above of the shop shows a drawing of the horse drawn tram, and here it is below with my siblings and I on it:

Third stop - Granite Island

Granite here, granite there, granites everywhere! Why do you think it was call granite island? The island itself is made of granite.

But besides it, the scenery is SO BEAUTIFUL!

My sister is sulking because my dad keep asking her to pose in photographs. And her favourite phrases throughout the trip was "Hey!", "Too Much!" and "太过分了!".

The video didn't really do the place justice. Was trying to capture the bigger splashes but missed them. The wind made it more beautiful in a way. :)

My siblings trying to capture a seagull while waiting for the horse drawn tram to come. Too cute.

Third stop - All around Victor Harbor

We didn't have any destination in mind, so we went to drive around Victor Harbor to see what they have. We ended up trying their McDonald's and shopping at the supermarket. Our dinner ended up being stuff we obtained from the supermarket, which included two whole cooked chickens. :)

Fourth stop - Check-in and rest @ McCracken Country Club Resort
Address: McCracken Dr, Victor Harbor SA 5211, Australia

Our room had a view overlooking the golf course. And there were many many different flowers around the compound too, but there were bees around them too.

Day 06 - Barossa (11 Dec 2013)

First stop - Lunch @ Lyndoch Bakery & Restaurant
Address: 26 Barossa Valley Way, Lyndoch SA 5351, Australia

Our first stop was lunch because we decided to have a late morning. We checked out at 10am and made our way for lunch. This place was recommended on google according to my dad, and it sells very nice pie. We went back there the next day for breakfast in the morning. :)

Second stop - Anglican Parish of the Barossa (Thrift Shop)

This was rather unplanned, but my sister found it while waiting for our food to arrive. So we decided to pay it a visit. My sister got a denim shirt which she plans to use as a jacket, and my brother got a reindeer stuff top for free. They were giving away Christmas decorations (and toys) away for free!

Third stop - Maggie Beer's Farm Shop
Address: LOT 50 Pheasant Farm Rd, Nuriootpa SA 5355

Apparently Maggie Beer is very famous in aus. So they have a shop selling all the cooking stuff, some recipe books, etc. We visited there because they have a cooking demonstration that runs everyday at 2pm. And yes, it's delicious!

Fourth stop - Angas Park
Address: 3 Murray St, Angaston SA 5353, Australia

They sell nuts and dried fruits, which makes great gifts! And my dad was saying I visited there when I was 3 years old, but I dun remember a thing...

And our failed jump shots:

Fifth stop - Check in at Barossa Weintal Motel
Address: Murray St, Tanunda SA 5352, Australia

Ok this motel... is on a never go to again. Just because the facilities are not really good, and the place is a bit run-down, and no very safe looking.

We then wanted to find the Sculpture Park, but failed to find it, so we stopped on the road to take some random shots:

Day 07 - Barossa to Adelaide (12 Dec 2013)

First stop - Brunch @ Lyndoch Bakery & Restaurant
Address: 26 Barossa Valley Way, Lyndoch SA 5351, Australia

The pie and blackforest cake is simply irresistible!

Second stop - Whispering Wall

Apparently you can speak at one end of the dam/wall and hear it from the other end. But that's about what you see at that stop, no shops or anything. There's a public toilet though.

Third stop - The Toy Factory/The Big Rocking Horse
Address: LOT 3 Albert St, Gumeracha SA 5091, Australia

Apparently I was there when I was 3, and actually have a few second memory of it. I remember running around in the toy factory shop.

They have an enclosure for animals there, including peacocks and kangaroo, and entry is free though you have to pay for the food if you want to feed them.

Side note, the chips at the restaurant which is there is super GOOD!

Fourth Stop - Check-in @ Quest on King William
Address: 82 King William St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia

Quest on King William is the last hotel/motel that we moved too, and we will be staying there for the rest of the time in South Australia.

They offer parking at $15 per day which is at a public carpark about 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel itself.

Fifth Stop - Lunch and shopping @ Central Market

Central Market was about 10 plus minutes walk down from Quest on King William. There were quite five shops recommended that my mum found and emailed us, but none of us could retrieve our email so we randomly visited some shops.

That's all for now. Will continue the next 4 days in another post!
